Product Introduction
Metal Fickert Diamond Grinding Block is a key technical tool for achieving efficient and high-quality automated grinding and polishing of granite slabs/tiles. These Fickert Abrasives are widely used for Granite Slabs & Tiles Factories.

It is a regular shaped block formed by consolidating diamond micro powder (as abrasive) and metal powder (as binder, such as cobalt, copper, tin, iron and other alloys) together through high-temperature and high-pressure sintering process. Under the enormous pressure and high-speed rotation of the grinding and polishing machine, the metal bonding agent continuously releases new and sharp diamond edges through its own wear, performing continuous "micro cutting" on the hard granite surface to achieve the effects of grinding, leveling, and final polishing.
Our Metal Fickert Diamond Grinding Block is a specialized tools used in the processing of granite and extravagant stone slabs/tiles. It is an ideal replacement of traditional SiC Abrasives, with which machine stone and tools installation time will be reduced thus the working efficiency increase by a great degree.

Some tips for using Metal Fickert Diamond Grinding Block
On a typical continuous grinding and polishing line, you'll usually have anywhere from ten to twenty grinding heads, and each head holds several grinding blocks. These blocks are arranged in a strict sequence, going from coarse to fine-and that's what makes up the whole grinding and polishing process. This sequence is marked by something called a "number."
Basically, the lower the number, the coarser the diamond grain. That means stronger grinding power and more material being removed.
The higher the number, the finer the grain. So the grinding force is gentler, and the surface comes out much smoother.

Note
The actual grinding configuration should be adjusted based on the hardness of the stone, equipment conditions, and production efficiency requirements.
The above information is for reference only. In practice, the grinding process can be fine-tuned according to the specific performance of both the stone and the abrasives. Why is it a "metal" bonding agent?
Granite has extremely high hardness (Mohs hardness 6-7), requiring a high hardness and high wear resistant binder to hold the same hard diamond abrasive. The strength and wear resistance of metal bonding agents far exceed those of resin bonding agents, making them very suitable for rough grinding, fine grinding, and initial polishing processes of granite.
Precautions for using Diamond Metal Fickert Abrasive for Granite
Stone matching
Granite with different mineral compositions and hardness (such as "black gold sand" with extremely high hardness and "sesame white" with slightly lower hardness) requires the selection of grinding blocks with different formulas (such as binder hardness and diamond strength).
01
Ladder integrity
It is necessary to ensure that each number of grinding blocks is working properly and cannot "skip numbers", otherwise the scratches left by the previous process cannot be eliminated by the next process, ultimately affecting the polishing effect.
02
Pressure and line speed
The equipment pressure and grinding head line speed need to be adjusted according to the number of grinding blocks, with high pressure and high speed for rough grinding and low pressure and low speed for fine polishing.
03
Cooling and cleaning
Adequate cooling water is crucial to prevent stones and tools from "burning out" (high temperatures can cause surface cracking or loss of luster).
04
Regular flipping and replacement
The grinding block will wear evenly and needs to be rotated regularly to ensure a smooth working surface. After the working layer is exhausted, it needs to be replaced in a timely manner.
