5in Circular Diamond Abrasive Brush

The 5" circular diamond abrasive brush features diamond-impregnated bristles and measures 5 inches in diameter. It is typically mounted on polishing machinery-such as angle grinders and handheld polishers-to treat stone surfaces with matte, antique, bush-hammered, or leather finishes.

During the polishing process, the diamond abrasive brush requires a continuous water supply. This serves two purposes: first, it prevents the bristles from deforming due to high temperatures; second, it flushes away abraded stone particles and spent abrasive materials, thereby preventing material buildup that could scratch or mar the surface.

Diamond abrasive brushes with coarser grits-specifically #24, #36, and #46-possess strong cutting power and excellent sharpness. They effectively grind away the softer particles on the stone surface (creating recessed areas) while leaving the harder particles intact (creating raised areas), thereby establishing the initial texture for an antique or leather finish (characterized by a distinct relief effect). The depth and prominence of this textured relief are determined by these initial coarse-grit stages; subsequent finer grits are used to remove the grinding marks left by the previous stages and to enhance the surface luster. The polishing process proceeds sequentially from coarser to finer grits until the stone surface achieves a progressively refined finish.

Circular abrasive brushes-such as the 4-inch and 5-inch models-are primarily designed for use with angle grinders, handheld polishers, and similar tools. They are available with three standard mounting thread specifications: M14, M16, and 5/8"-11; alternatively, they can be attached using a snail-lock mechanism or a Velcro backing system.

Larger circular abrasive brushes-such as the 8-inch, 10-inch, and 15-inch models-are suitable for use with automatic polishing machines, semi-automatic walk-behind polishers, or floor restoration machines.
