Technical Parameters

Cheefung quartz-specialized resin diamond polishing pads are engineered for high-density engineered stone countertops. With wear-resistant modified resin matrix, they effectively avoid burning and foggy marks on quartz edges during wet grinding. The flexible velcro-backed pad fits full bullnose & half bullnose curved edges perfectly to prevent slab chipping. Complete grit range from 50# to 6000# delivers scratch-free crystal mirror finish, matching original quartz slab gloss. Available in 4 inch standard size, wet & dry versions for stone factory mass production and on-site countertop renovation.

  Structural Composition

  1. Polishing Layer: Highly wear-resistant modified resin combined with high-strength diamond micron powder; designed for the high hardness of engineered quartz to ensure durability; the formula is optimized to prevent heat-induced burning, avoiding yellowing or white hazing at quartz edges.
  2. Flexible Cushioning Layer: Elastic resin base that conforms to various curved profiles-such as full bullnose, half bullnose, and small rounded edges-while minimizing edge chipping on thin quartz slabs.
  3. Backing: Velcro-style nylon backing for quick attachment to angle grinder backing pads and easy removal/replacement.
  4. Standard Sizes: Industry-standard 4-inch (100mm); smaller 3-inch sizes available for narrow edges and corners, and 5-inch sizes for polishing large flat slab surfaces.

  Instructions for Use:
This is a standard, complete-grit set. Quartz stone must be processed sequentially through each grit level; skipping grits will result in permanent scratches. The roles of the 7 pads in the set are as follows:

Grit Process Function Quartz Processing Application
#50 / #100 Coarse Grinding Pads Rough grinding & leveling Removes deep marks from diamond profiling wheels, edge irregularities, and saw cut marks
#200 / #400 Medium Grinding Transition Pads Refining the surface Eliminates coarse grinding scratches and unifies surface roughness; prepares the base for fine polishing
#800 / #1500 Fine Grinding Pads Matte refinement Softens fine abrasion marks; achieves a smooth, uniform matte finish
#3000 / #6000 Mirror Polishing Pads High-gloss finishing Produces a clear, mirror-like finish matching the original factory surface; leaves no hazy residue

  Key Features Optimized for Engineered Quartz
1. High-Wear-Resistance Resin Formula, Suited for Quartz Hardness

  • Standard marble polishing pads wear out rapidly on quartz; this specialized version incorporates wear-resistant fillers, extending service life by 30% for the same processing volume, with superior performance on high-density and dark-colored quartz (e.g., grey or black quartz).

2. High-Temperature Resistance Prevents Burning and Whitening

  • Friction generates heat that easily causes oxidation and whitening on quartz; the specialized resin offers superior thermal conductivity, facilitating rapid heat dissipation when used with water cooling. This prevents white hazing, yellowing, or burn marks on countertop edges during continuous batch processing.

3. High Elasticity Prevents Edge Chipping; Ideal for Standard 15/18mm Quartz Countertops

  • The flexible backing conforms tightly to full-bullnose and half-bullnose profiles, cushioning impact during polishing; this minimizes edge chipping and corner breakage when processing thin slabs or complex corner shapes.

4. Transparent Polish That Preserves Quartz Crystal Texture

  • Features an ultra-fine, uniform diamond distribution that eliminates "orange peel" effects or hazy finishes, fully revealing the translucent texture of the internal quartz particles and ensuring a long-lasting high-gloss shine.

5. Non-Staining; Suitable for Light-Colored (White/Beige) Quartz

  • Utilizes a light-colored, transparent resin matrix, ensuring no black or yellow stains or discoloration occur when processing white or cream-colored quartz countertops.

6. Available in Wet and Dry Versions

  • Wet Polishing Version (Preferred for factory batch processing): Offers longer service life, minimal dust, and optimal polishing results; ideal for use on production lines with a steady water supply.
  • Dry Polishing Version (For on-site repairs or locations without water access): Uses heat-resistant modified resin; suitable for countertop refurbishment, corner rounding, and scratch repair-designed for short-duration processing tasks.

  Standard Processing Workflow   (Comprehensive Quartz Countertop Finishing)

  1. Rough Shaping: Use a metal-sintered or vacuum-brazed diamond profiling wheel to mill the full or half bullnose profile.
  2. Rough Leveling: Use #50/#100 flexible polishing pads designed for quartz to remove deep milling marks.
  3. Progressive Refining: Sequentially grind using #200 → #400 → #800 → #1500 grits.
  4. Mirror-Finish Polishing: Use #3000/#6000 pads to achieve a uniform, high-gloss finish across both the flat surface and the rounded edges.

  Applications

  • Polishing rounded edges for custom quartz kitchen islands and cabinet countertops;
  • Precision finishing of shaped bullnose edges for quartz bathroom vanities and cabinets;
  • Rounding edges for quartz window sills (bay windows/balconies) and stair treads;
  • Beveling and polishing curved profiles on large quartz slabs and sintered stone countertops;
  • Repairing scratches and refurbishing/remodeling existing quartz countertops.

  Compatible Equipment

  • Handheld stone angle grinders with M14 threads (standard in China and Europe);
  • Handheld edge routers/polishers with 5/8-11 threads (standard in North America);
  • Benchtop stone edge polishing machines and compact CNC countertop processing equipment.

  Usage Precautions

  1. Ensure continuous, ample water cooling; dry grinding for extended periods is strictly prohibited, as high heat causes rapid pad wear and burns the quartz surface.
  2. Maintain light, even pressure and a steady feed rate during grinding; excessive pressure can deform the pads and result in uneven gloss on rounded edges.
  3. Strictly follow the grit sequence from coarse to fine; skipping any grit level will leave behind fine scratches that cannot be removed.
  4. When processing high-density black or dark-colored quartz, using thickened, wear-resistant pads is recommended to extend the service life of the consumables.
