Technical Parameters

 I. Basic Definitions and Product Specifications
1. Product Positioning
Resin-bonded Diamond Abrasive Blocks are specialized consumables used in fully automated granite polishing lines for intermediate grinding, fine grinding, and mirror-finish polishing. Following the initial rough grinding (performed by metal-bonded abrasives) and transitional grinding (using magnesite abrasives), these blocks refine the stone's texture and produce a high-gloss surface; they are the core abrasive tools determining the final aesthetic quality of the finished product.

2. Material Structure

  • Bonding Matrix: Phenolic resin and wear-resistant inorganic fillers, hot-pressed and cured to provide inherent elasticity;
  • Cutting Medium: Uniformly graded diamond micropowder, with grit ratios tailored for intermediate or fine polishing;
  • Standard Base: Universal L140 snap-fit base, compatible with granite automatic polishing heads worldwide; custom L130/L170 bases available upon request;
  • Standard Abrasive Layer Thickness: 12mm/15mm (15mm is the standard specification for mass production).

3. Comprehensive grit coverage

(covering intermediate and final stages; excludes coarse grinding grits)
#120, #180, #240, #320, #400, #600, #800, #1000, #1500, #3000, plus Buff finishing

Standard granite processing line configuration:

  1. Metal bond Diamond Fickert Abrasive (#30–#320: coarse grinding/leveling) →
  2. Magnesite bond Diamond Fickert Abrasive (#120–#400: transition) →
  3. Resin bond Diamond Fickert Abrasive (#600–#3000: high-gloss fine polishing)

 II. Five Core Product Advantages of Cheefung Fickerts
1 Flexible matrix prevents deep scratches and delivers high mirror-like gloss

  • The resin matrix provides flexible cushioning, avoiding the coarse tool marks often left by metal segments; progressive grinding yields a smooth, uniform surface, with #3000/Buff stages achieving a high mirror gloss of 90–100°. Light-colored granite and black stone show minimal color variation or surface blotchiness.

2 Balanced self-sharpening properties prevent surface smearing and stone scorching

  • Resin offers moderate thermal conductivity, resulting in low frictional heat buildup under water-cooled conditions and preventing scorch marks on light-colored stone. Diamond particles shed evenly with the resin, maintaining consistent sharpness; the tool resists clogging with stone dust or smearing the surface during prolonged, continuous operation.

3 Service life far exceeds that of Magnesite segments, significantly reducing replacement frequency

  • Under standard water-cooled processing of 20mm granite, a single segment can process 30,000–45,000 m²-10 to 20 times the lifespan of Magnesite segments-drastically cutting downtime and labor costs associated with frequent replacements.

4 Highly versatile; compatible with a wide range of stone types (both soft and hard)

  • Beyond standard granite, the improved soft-resin formula allows for the processing of softer materials such as marble, travertine, onyx, and engineered quartz. A single set of consumables covers multiple slab types, reducing inventory pressure for distributors.

5 Balanced cost-performance ratio with moderate procurement costs; full OEM support available

  • Unit prices are lower than metal-bond abrasives, while polishing results far surpass those of magnesite-bond abrasives. Customizable options include diamond concentration, resin hardness/formula, specific colors, and private labeling. One-stop supply available for complete sets, including metal/magnesite-bond abrasives and Fickert brushes.

 Compatible & Non-Recommended Applications
Compatible Stone Types

  • Standard white/grey/red granite, black granite, engineered quartz, terrazzo, soft marble, travertine, lightly processed quartzite, finished countertop slabs, and exterior wall polishing panels.

Compatible Equipment
Keda, Breton, Simec, and Intermac 12/16/20-head fully automatic granite continuous polishing lines; automatic bridge-type slab polishing machines; compatible with standard L140 grinding heads.

Not Recommended For

  • Initial rough grinding/calibration of raw blocks or slabs with significant surface irregularities;
  • Dry grinding operations without cooling water;
  • Sole use for rough processing of high-hardness materials like Black Galaxy granite or quartzite (results in low efficiency and rapid wear).

 Some questions that you may be concerned about(FAQ)

Q1: What is the service life of resin bond diamond fickert?

A: Tested under standard 20mm granite slab with full water cooling: #120–#600 medium grit: 30,000–38,000 ㎡ per piece #800–#3000 fine & buff grit: 35,000–45,000 ㎡ per piece Custom upgraded resin formula extends lifespan by 15%–20%. Service life will drop obviously without enough cooling water.

Q2: What's the difference between resin and metal bond diamond fickert?

A: Metal bond fickert owns super strong cutting power and longest lifespan for rough slab leveling; resin bond fickert features flexible elastic matrix to produce scratch-free high-gloss finish for fine polishing. They must be matched together for a complete granite polishing sequence.

Q3: Can resin fickert polish marble and onyx luxury stone?

A: Yes, we supply soft customized resin formula fickert specially for fragile marble, travertine and onyx. It polishes gently without deep scratches or edge chipping, ideal for luxury soft stone finishing.

Q4: Does standard L140 resin fickert fit Keda automatic polishing machine?

A: Absolutely. Our universal L140 base with standard mounting holes matches all Keda 12/16/20-head granite polishing lines directly, no machine modification needed. Custom L130/L170 sizes are available for bulk orders.

Q5: What grit sequence needs resin bond fickert on granite line?

A: Standard full polishing flow: Metal bond #30/#80 → Magnesite #240/#400 → Resin bond #800/#1500/#3000/Buff for final mirror gloss finishing. Do not skip grit sizes to avoid residual scratches on slab surface.
